FAQ

How the scores work, and why the site is built the way it is.

Do I need an account to write a review?

Yes — a code by email, or one tap with X. No password. Reading the site needs nothing at all, and adding a missing product does not either; the account exists so every score is backed by a real, reachable person and so the one-review-per-product rule cannot be sidestepped by clearing cookies. Your email address is never shown on a review.

How is the score calculated?

It is the mean of every published review on a 1–10 scale. No weighting, no editorial adjustment, and no way to pay for a better one. The guidelines go into the detail, including how the trend badge works.

What stops companies posting fake reviews of themselves?

Several things, none of them perfect on its own: one review per product per person, a daily submission cap, duplicate-text detection, a bot check, and a human reading every review before it publishes. Reviewing your own product is a rule break and the reviews get removed.

What do the Verified badges mean?

Verified means a code was delivered to an email address that reviewer controls — it proves a reachable person, not product usage. Verified Customer means a billing email from the product was forwarded to us and its signature checked. Neither is granted for simply claiming something.

Why is my review not showing up yet?

Every review is read by a person before publishing. Being brief or negative does not hold a review back — that is exactly the feedback the site exists to collect.

Can a company get a bad review removed?

Not for being bad. A negative review that follows the guidelines stays up. If a review is factually false about your product, write to us with specifics.

Does sponsoring affect scores or rankings?

No. Sponsor placements are labelled as sponsors and sit outside the rankings entirely. A paid slot cannot buy a score, a position, or the removal of a review — keeping those two systems separate is the whole product.

Where does the product information come from?

A mix of public catalogue data and community submissions. It can be out of date or wrong — if you spot something, submit a correction or email us.

A product I use is missing. Can I add it?

Yes — add it here. Submissions are checked before they appear so the catalogue does not fill up with duplicates.

How do I delete a review I wrote?

Your reviews are listed under My reviews when you are signed in. To have one removed, email team@ratemyai.app from the address on the account, naming the product.
Still stuck? Email team@ratemyai.app.
