Feature Fridays are AWESOME
The Article 50 Overview both gave a good recap of what was in the law, what i had to do to comply, and the risks (3% annual revenue?!?!) if we didn't do things correctly.
Having a resource like Alex from legal gave me confidence the info was legit and it was reassuring that Synthesia was involved in shaping and consulting on the law.
The 'how to' section was super clear - feel ready to tag things I've made and keep the company compliant!
Easy to understand, use and engage. Just one minor change.
It was fairly easy to understand and nice to see all the different functions I actually missed and really needed. The host was very friendly, especially in the beginning when everyone was joining. I never really get seen in these chats so it was really nice to get a response. I just wish the time spent on the questions at the end was a bit longer, I really wanted to ask if we would get the recording of the session, I would have loved to show my collogues and boss as I want them to also join and invest into the app.
not as advertised and google recommend , very low quality image and not professional video maker for social media ads or post, strongly not recommended. waste of money
I enjoyed having the facilitator and also producers (extra facilitators to help answer questions). They were able to answer questions and supply resources where they were needed.
Very expensive and disappointing. I paid for the monthly plan and ran out of credits quickly when trying to generate videos. After that, I realized I would have to pay for a yearly subscription just to get around 6 hours of video generation. For the price, it feels way too limited and not worth it. The service is far too expensive for what it actually offers, and overall I had a terrible experience.
This is a crap site. I posted a college world series review and they flagged my video. I will be shooting a video explaining what cucks these fools are. Dont use them. Total censors for no reason it seems. Who is behind this crapy platform.
Spent all day learning the software and creating a video, just to find out the subject of the video cannot be published by Synthesia (educating paid affiliates).
Would be nice if I could have received an error message or head’s up that the content I was working on would be rejected prior to spending hours on this.
Hot tip - if it refuses to generate your video, just take a screen recording 👍
Thanks for nothing Synthesia.
Could have drafted a PowerPoint and recorded myself in a fraction of the time
Unfair affiliate practices and zero human support.
I generated over $300 in real, paying customer commissions for Synthesia. Due to a minor keyword oversight in my campaign, they instantly permanently banned my account and confiscated 100% of my earnings without any prior warning.
When I tried to reach out to their support and Head of Partnerships for a fair resolution or to request data logs under GDPR, I was met with complete silence and automated bot emails. They are quick to take your traffic, but will use any excuse in their TOS to keep your money. Affiliates and partners, stay away.
I went through the Synthesia Academy starter videos, but it's very useful to go over the same material with a different voice and a knowledgeable instructor.
The few glitches that popped up in the webinar demo made it a relatable, 'real' experience.
Red Flag: After some research and reading the reviews, I have serious questions about their "content moderation" policy, as that seems to be a recurring complaint that appears to severely limit the value of this otherwise amazing platform.
It could be a good experience, but it’s not very user-friendly to try out. I wanted to experiment with video dubbing using a 7:30-minute video I uploaded. It took about 30 minutes just to get a one-minute demo back. I couldn’t even download it to my computer because it was deleted during the process. I also couldn’t enter comments without paying for a membership (even though the system offers around 37 minutes of free video).
From what I was able to hear—and keeping in mind that it’s AI-generated—the expression in the translation was only partially similar to the original. However, again, I only heard one minute. The dubbing completely replaces the original audio, so things like laughter or applause are removed.
In short, it might be a good option, but you can’t really appreciate it without paying for a membership.
The script renders not correctly. Two separate words are often written as one, without spacebar. I already addressed this technical issue, but unfortunately, it still exists. Consequently, my videos are of less quality and money is wasted because I need to regenerate the same videos, hoping that the error doesn't re-occur.
Feels like quite a new product, lots of small bugs.
Nothing blocking, but can be annoying. The end product (after generating) is good but still a lot of room to improve.
Monthly or annual minutes are also very limiting
1. Too many content restrictions. Not allowed to use many words, terms and other restrictions.
2. Unable to test out the system as a trial user. You have to subscribe at least 1 month to try, and it's non-refundable.
3. The ai avatar doesnt look natural at all. Disappointing.
Their video platform is excellent. Their customer service is horrible. Hard to get anyone to connect with you. The basic plan only allows the person who created the account to be the editor. It can't be handed off/assigned to someone else. This is the trick to get everyone to upgrade.
I will be back. There is definitely a learning curve with the development of a video, however, I like the finished product. I only rated this as a three due to the time it took me get a finished product I was happy with. There were some issues with slides duplicating background images when not asked to and I had to find some workarounds with that. Otherwise, I love the idea and product.
Impressive tech, but needs better instructions and support.
The technology is impressive and I've made almost 50 restaurant training videos that look quite nice. But...their content moderation guidelines are not clear and the 5 bar and server staff videos I made got flagged, despite not promoting any illegal activity. In fact, the videos were specifically made to train staff and ensure alcohol compliance and safety. Getting support from a real person isn't easy and their instructions still need work, to help users find answers easily.
But, aside from this the technology is pretty handy and impressive.
The AI style of the video is very impressive, but when I tried to make my avatar profile in the video, it looked bad and my voice was generated differently.
